To wrap up our travels for 2019, I put together a map that shows all our stops for the year.
The highlights of the year for us were:
- Quartzsite, Arizona and the new friends we made.
- Al becoming an Elks member at the Scottsdale Lodge in Arizona
- Volunteering for the LA Angels Spring Training in Tempe, Arizona
- Camp Hosting at Snow Canyon State Park in Utah
- A plane trip to Pennsylvania with trips to Washington, DC and New York City with Al's cousins from Mexico City and a trip to Boston to visit Sushant & Rashmi
- Water ski trips to Lake Mead in Arizona with Bill and Maureen
- A visit to western Colorado and catching up with our friend, Dave and Ellie Mae
- Driving among the rocks at Monument Valley in Utah and Arizona
- Boondocking in Flagstaff, Arizona several times and once with a trip to Grand Canyon National Park
- Helping Bill move from Tustin, California to Prescott Valley, Arizona
- Getting 930 watts of solar panels, 3 lithium batteries, and a 3000 watt inverter/converter installed on our trailer
- Visiting Bryce Canyon National Park and finding a nice boondocking spot just outside the entrance
- Volunteering at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta with Joie & Mike and Linda & Randy and meeting new friends
- Visiting with Dorothy, Jerry, and Sadie at Cochiti Lake in New Mexico
- Visiting Amarillo, Texas and re-connecting with my cousin, Rob & Cindy
- Visiting the giant cross and Jesus crucifixtion statues in Groom, Texas
- Re-visiting Wellington, Texas and talking with Carol who owns the antique store in town
- Attending the Wichita Falls Air show at the Shepphard Air Force Base in Texas and seeing the Thunderbirds perform
- Re-visiting Sam & Sarah's farm in Azle, Texas
- Freezing our butts off at a Habitat for Humanity build in Fredericksburg, Texas
- Visiting Big Bend National Park in Texas
- A broken leaf spring on the trailer at the exit to Big Bend National Park and being towed 100 miles to Ft. Stockton, Texas
- Re-visiting and catching up with Andy in La Mesa, New Mexico
- Camp Hosting at Fiesta Grande RV Resort in Casa Grande, Arizona
- A quick visit to La Mirada, California to see family and some friends for Christmas
I didn't feel like we went that far in our travels but we did manage to keep ourselves busy. After this Coronavirus is past us, I hope we can venture out further and visit more states. Stay tuned.....
