New Hampshire and Pennsylvania with Family

Leaving behind the RV at our friend, Bill's house in Arizona, we few to Boston first to visit our friend, Sushant, and his dog, Coco.  Sushant's wife, Rashmi, was in India visiting with her parents so we missed seeing her.

My Dad and step-mom, Barb, decided they were going to move to an independent living facility nearby their house in Schwenksville, PA.  They talked with a realtor and he decided to have an open house on the first weekend we planned to be in PA.  Since we didn't want to be around for the open house, we decided to visit Sushant in Boston first.

Al got to spend time with his favorite dog.

This is the apple tree we gave to Sushant and Rashmi as their house warming gift a year or two ago.

Sushant picked us up from the airport, we spent a few minutes inside the Boston house and then we went to his New Durham, New Hampshire house.

We arrived at the New Hampshire house in a couple of hours.  Their New Hampshire house is sometimes available as a short term rental.  It's called The Blue Lotus.

There have been some improvements completed since our last visit.  It's such a great place.  We love it there!

Sushant gave Al a driving lesson in his Tesla.

Coco and I were along for the ride.

Our destination was Pizza Barn because we love their pizza!

Back at the house we caught the end of sunset.

Playing with some of Rashmi's spices.

Coco got in to the lake to play against Sushant's wishes so then he needed to be bathed and then dried.

It was a quick but fun weekend hanging out with Sushant and Coco.  We went back to Boston where we then flew to Philadelphia to be with my Dad and Barb.

Most of the time there was spent helping them box up stuff, getting things down from their attic, working with my Dad to go through all his tools and hardware, etc.  I also found a box of old photos of my brother and I that I went though and took pictures of them all so we have soft copies.

Some days my Dad would sit on a chair in the garage and I would bring him a drawer to clean out.  I listened to his stories where he got such and such or why he had this thing or what that thing goes to.  My Dad was always working on something as he was a very good handyman around the house.  I'm just lucky that he already did some purging of stuff with his two previous house moves.

We didn't visit with any friends while in PA since we never knew when the motivation would strike to go through more stuff with Dad.

One night we did get together with my brother, Jay, and his girlfriend, Mel for chicken wings.

Another day I made seasoned pretzels which I love!

I'm glad we had the opportunity to help my Dad and Barb with emptying out their house.

They were all set to move in October 2022 but at the last minute they changed their mind.  Their house wasn't selling and it was coming up on the holidays and they didn't want to leave it empty so they decided to stay.  Oh well.  Maybe they will try again in the spring.

This time wasn't filled with RV'ing activities but I wanted to document this time.  We're lucky to have the freedom to help out family when necessary.

We flew back to Phoenix and picked up the truck and RV and headed east.  We're headed for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in the next entry.

  3. The dog is as big as Al. I love the lake house. Moving and downsizing can be an emotional thing. Cathy
