It's party time! We left Anna and Bertin’s house around 10 am to go to the party house nearby.
First some photos of Anna and Bertin's house in Cuernavaca. They have three kids: Poncho, Arantxa, and Mine.

Anna has a picture painted by her brother, Quico. It is of a place
that Quico took us to on one of our previous trips to Mexico. It is
Isla Janitzio on Lago de Patzcuaro in Michoacán, Mexico. Isla Janitzio is famous for having the ugliest statue of Jose Maria Morelos, the independence leader, in all of Mexico.

I
was looking at the picture and it was reminding me of our visit to an
island with Quico and family and Quico confirmed it was the same place.
Quico is quite a talented painter.
The family rented a home for the birthday party for two days that had 8
bedrooms and 6 bathrooms on two floors plus more bathrooms in an out building. There was also a swimming pool and outdoor kitchen.

It was a fun party and we had a great time with everyone. We were so glad we went.
We rode back to Mexico City in the van with Denis,
Fernando, Miguel, Karla, a friend of Ana’s, Poncho, Iramita, Al, and me.

We went for a walk around the neighborhood and came across this entrepreneur with his mobile barber shop. Al got his hair cut.

We were at the house when Tia Eva was opening her birthday gifts.
|
Anna drove Arantxa up from Cuernavaca to drop her off. Arantxa is a flight attendant for Volaris and was headed out the next morning.
|
Tia Eva always has fresh cut flowers at her house. One day I noticed this tiny vase with flowers that Romina left for her great-grandmother. So sweet.
Our flight from Mexico City was at 7:30 am the next day. Quico drove us to the airport at 6 am. No troubles getting through security and to
our gate. We upgraded our seats on the
flight from MEX to SFO so we had more space around us since Al was not feeling well.
Scott, the Uber driver, picked us up at the
airport. He took us to El Pollo Loco to get
some food then he took us back to the house on Peregrine Dr in Reno. All was well with our RV. Good to be back. We spent the night in the RV in the backyard in
Reno. It was very hot in the upper
90’s but we managed for one night..

Well that was our quick week to Mexico City. We had a blast! I'm so glad we had the opportunity and ability to pause our travel plans, find a place to park the truck and RV, and spend the week in Mexico City with family.
Commercial break: If you are so inclined, we have a musician cousin, Gabriel, aka El_Gabe, who has music on Spotify, iTunes, etc. and videos on YouTube. He would welcome any plays you can give him to increase his numbers. If you don't like the music, you can mute your speaker and let the music play in the background. I can't say I like all of it or the scantily dressed girls but we are trying to be supportive.
We're picking back up with our travls and headed north to Oregon. Thanks for following along.....
